Norway Extremist Called for Attacks on Academics and Writers

The man who has admitted to killing 76 people in twin attacks in Norway last week also called for attacks on literature professors, writers, and journalists in his 1,500-page manifesto. According to the publishing-news blog GalleyCat, Anders Behring Breivik railed against “cultural Marxists” such as Theodor Adorno and Antonio Gramsci, and against how academics and writers spread multiculturalism and political correctness. “They know that they are contributing to a process of indirect cultural and demographical genocide and they need to be held accountable for their actions,” Mr. Breivek wrote, according to the GalleyCat report. He also vilified college reading lists and described literary festivals and journalists’ conferences as gatherings of “prioritized target groups.”
