A panel that governs private occupational schools for the Colorado Department of Higher EducationĀ has suspended operations at Denver’s Greenway University, a state-licensed medical-marijuana institution, because its owner did not divulge on the license application that he had been convicted of a felony. Court documents from California show that Gus Escamilla pleaded guilty 11 years ago to felony grand theft by embezzlement, according to theĀ ABC-television affiliate 7News. Mr. Escamilla, who told 7News that he took “full responsibility” for the paperwork problem, said he thought his conviction had been expunged.
